History Comes Alive

MuseumArchive3DAnimationHeritage

An old photograph is a closed door. History Comes Alive opens it.

Working from museum archives, we separate historical photographs into layers, rebuild the space between them in 3D and move a camera through the scene — so that a family on a farmyard, workers in a field or children on a city street gain depth, light and motion. The image stays true to the original; what changes is the visitor's sense of being there.

In the longer films, the animated photographs are paired with present-day interviews — archive and memory speaking side by side.
