This project involves the high-resolution 3D scanning of a skull discovered at the Leväluhta burial site in Finland. The resulting interactive visualization allows users to freely rotate and examine the skull from every angle. Embedded multimedia elements—such as historical context, scientific data, and related imagery—are revealed through clickable hotspots, offering deeper insights into the artifact’s significance.
Leväluhta is known for its Iron Age watery burial practice, where human remains were deposited in a spring. This unique setting has made Leväluhta a fascinating subject for archaeological and anthropological research. By digitizing one of the skulls found at this site, we aim to preserve valuable cultural heritage and make it accessible for education, research, and virtual exploration.
